Top Tips for Fluffing Up Your Artificial Tree
Have you invested in a new Christmas tree? Or perhaps it’s on your list to do this weekend? Artificial trees are a great alternative to real trees as they are usually cheaper, are convenient, last longer and require much less maintenance.
However, if they have been stored away since last year or stored in a shop, they may not look quite how you expect. But by fluffing them up, you can make them look beautiful and bushy once again. It doesn’t take too long and really does improve the overall look of your tree.
Here are some useful tips when it comes to shaping your artificial Christmas tree.
Tip 1
For a 7ft tree or above, we recommend setting aside 45 minutes to an hour to fluff up your Christmas tree and you will need to make sure that you do this before adding any decorations. Why not get all the family involved? It’s extremely fun and a great festivity to bond over!
Tip 2
Start by fluffing up the branches towards the bottom of the tree and work your way up. This makes it easier to reach any that might be tucked away out of sight or have been flattened in the packaging, and means you can space them out evenly.
Tip 3
Shape each branch individually by moving each branch so that they are evenly spaces, before pulling out the side branches and separating the tips. You can then move onto fluffing the tree as a whole, where you can shape the layers and sections.
Tip 4
Take a step back and look at your Christmas tree from a distance. Up close, it might look like the branches are evenly distributed but once you move back, you will be able to spot any gaps or crowded spots a lot easier.
Tip 5
Use the product photo for inspiration/guidance when shaping your tree. Some trees are designed to have branches angled upwards or downwards, so you will need to replicate this when doing your own.
If you don’t have the box any more (or have left it up in the loft!), don’t worry. Many retailers have packaging details and assembly instructions online so you should be able to find them quite easily.
