Summer activities to try this year

5 outdoor activities to try this summer

Unfortunately Christmas is still over 200 days away and although we can’t wait to celebrate, we are really looking forward to the warm weather and sunshine.

Summer is the perfect time to explore the beautiful outdoors, take in the fresh air, meet up with friends and family and, of course, enjoy the sunshine and clear blue skies.

If you’re struggling to find inspiration for activities for the upcoming season, don’t worry! We have put together 5 ideas for you to try to keep you entertained.

Hiking:

Explore the great outdoors and go on an exciting adventure through local trails and national parks. You will be able to see picturesque views while getting lots of fresh air and exercise at the same time.

Top tip: It’s essential to wear suitable footwear, clothing and carry plenty of water to keep you hydrated. You should also be stocked up on essentials like snacks, sunscreen, towels, spare clothes and insect repellent.

If you are planning a long journey, we would also recommend taking along some first aid necessities too!

Swimming:

Swimming is a fun, revitalising activity that can refresh and cool you down in summer heat, whether you fancy doing lengths at the local swimming pool or taking a dip in the stunning oceans on your next holiday.

Camping:

Camping provides the perfect opportunity to get away from the stresses of everyday life and switch off technology so that you can connect with nature as well as spend time with your loved ones.

Set up your tent, relax by the campfire and fall asleep under the stars… How good does that sound?

Cycling:

Riding your bike is a great way to improve your fitness and discover new places both locally, nationally and even internationally if you fancy!

You can go for casual slow-paced rides or set yourself challenges by increasing distances, speeds and changing terrains, depending on what you fancy.

Outdoor Sports:

Get a group of friends together for a game of rounders, cricket, golf, football or rugby. These sports are not only physically beneficial but also provide an opportunity to socialise, build relationships and have a great time with others.

Top tip: Look after yourself this summer by wearing appropriate clothing and accessories, wearing sunscreen, protecting your eyes with sunglasses and investing in comfortable footwear.

And most importantly, have the best summer and make the most of the lovely weather!
